Environmental responsibility

As an importer of electronic parts, it is important for us to be responsible for the quality of the parts as well as reducing their environmental impact.

RoHS (Restrictions of Hazardous Substances) is an EU directive that bans cadmium, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). The directive is meant to limit the rising problems caused by the pollution of our environment. REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a regulation from the European Parliament to set a high protection standard for health and environment for these types of articles, and increase companies competitiveness. The REACH regulation means that more information on chemical substances and their health- and environmental effects will be better available to authorities and the public. This European regulations for chemical registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction also applies in Norway through the EEA Agreement.

Conflict Minerals are minerals whose extraction and trade finance armed conflicts in some parts of the world. These minerals are tantalum, gold, tin, and tungsten. These minerals originate from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or the countries bordering the DRC (Angola, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Zambia).

EC Partner supports fully the aims of RoHS and REACH and delivers all products according to their regulations. As a distributor we do not manufacture the products we sell, but work closely with our suppliers to address the consequences of the directives. None of the products supplied contain conflict minerals. EC Partners can provide information and documentation on the content of our products in collaboration with our suppliers.
